믹스톡 성수는 '교실이 아닌 곳에서 진짜 대화를 나눠보자'는 생각에서 시작됐습니다.MixTalk Seongsu began with one idea: real conversation happens best outside a classroom.
왜 성수동일까요Why Seongsu-dong?
낡은 창고를 개조한 카페와 복합문화공간이 많은 성수동은 한국인과 외국인이 자연스럽게 섞이는 동네입니다. 저희는 그 분위기를 그대로 모임에 가져왔어요 — 격식 없이, 그러나 알차게.Seongsu-dong's converted warehouses and cafes are already where locals and visitors naturally mix. We borrowed that atmosphere for the meetup — informal, but substantial.
매주 정해진 커리큘럼이 있다는 점이 다른 언어교환 모임과 다릅니다. 즉흥적인 스몰토크로 끝나지 않도록, 그 주의 주제와 표현을 미리 준비해요.What sets us apart is a weekly curriculum. Instead of aimless small talk, each week has a topic and a handful of useful expressions prepared in advance.
모임이 지키는 세 가지 원칙Three principles we keep
1. 반반 대화1. Half and half
한 테이블 안에서 한국어와 영어를 번갈아 사용해요.Every table alternates between Korean and English.
2. 레벨 존중2. Respect the level
서로 다른 언어 수준을 배려하며 천천히, 정확하게 말해요.We speak slowly and clearly, mindful of different levels.
3. 부담 없는 참가비3. A fair, low fee
참가비는 대관료·다과비로만 사용되며, 영리 목적이 아니에요.Fees only cover venue and snacks — this isn't run for profit.
